Wing

Wing

Paragraph 1:
My day started off normally, but then everything changed.
I was playing my sweet, melodic music when I crashed into the ground. I looked up hoping to catch this menace, this hazard to society when I saw a big, black, booming CROW! I turned around for I had tasted yucky, icky DIRT!!! Quietly, I looked around to find an escape. One of the crows, probably their leader, grabbed me by my wing, snatched the flute out of my hand, and then threw me on the ground. Their leader started to play the flute but it sounded more like a cat yowling.

Paragraph 2:
I placed my hands over my ears. Then I ran into the distance. I saw my house and dashed inside, locked the door with a HUGE plank of wood then breathed a sigh of relief. I looked out of the window and saw tiny little birds flying, then suddenly I had the urge to fly in the sky. I went to the top of my tree and grabbed my launcher which was a birthday gift from my grandma.

Paragraph 2
I make my own wing that will help me balance in the sky. I sit in my launcher, grab my handle, and WHOOSH!!! There I go, flying in the sky. It's like a  flying sensation. Everything is well until, SCRATCH!!!! I landed on the ground, all of my muscles paining in agony. I looked up to see 4 crows staring at my writhing face. Suddenly I can hear lovely, calm music paying from my very own flute.  I look up to see a beautiful girl hovering in the air, then she is gone. The crows follow her and I can hear squawking and screaming.

Paragraph 4:

I stand up and follow them when I can see feathers everywhere. I continuous walking when I can see a majestic, girl sadly playing my flute. On her shoulder is one wing. I place my lucky scarf on her neck. She turns around and gives me back my flute. I am overjoyed. But then I see 2 pairs of eyes looking around the trees.  Our wings start to flap so I hold her hand. We fly off into the sky while we share a smile. We look down to find the leader of the crow angrily crushing the flute. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that we are all safe. We fly off into the sunset knowing everything will get better and better.

Moral Of The Story: We are each of us angels with one wing, but we can only fly by embracing one another.

Consider Having 3-Day-Weekends

   Consider Having 3-Day-Weekends

Have you ever wished there was no school because then there would be more weekends? How about 3 day weekends!!! 3 day weekends should exist because
You can spend more time with your family
You can finally take a break from school
It gives you heaps of time to buy the necessary things you will need
and that is why we should have 3-day-weekends.

Argument 1

3 day weekends should be allowed because you can have fun with your family. Kids are always bored on the weekend. Saturday is relax day. Sunday is getting ready for a new week. Wheres the fun?!? If Friday was a weekend than you could have fun with your family and friends. You don’t need to ask for anything more.  An example. Here. Have you ever just finished your homework on Sunday and then you go and lie down. Then you ask if you can go to your cousin’s house. Your mum says no because you’re just about to go shopping. Then tomorrow you have school. When’s the fun?!?!?!

Argument 2

Ugg, I have to go to school. Isn’t 5 days of school way too much. Imagine if we had 3 day weekends!! There will only be 4 days of school. We can finally take a break from old, boring school.  On Sunday your just about to play your most favorite game on Roblox when your dad says, “Come on go to bed. You have school tomorrow.” NOOOOOO!!! If Monday was a weekend, on Sunday you could sleep at midnight and it wouldn’t even matter.

Argument 3

Another reason we should have 3 day weekends you can buy all your favorite chocolate and candy. Have you ever just wanted to buy a super cool toy that just came out but by the time you got there all the shops were closed. Well, that happened to me. Imagine if Monday was a weekend. The store will only close at around 10:00 pm. It’s even better for personal distance.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it would be best if we had 3 day weekends. I mean come on. It would be better for all of us. You can spend more time with your family. You can finally take a break from school. It gives you heaps of time to buy the necessary things you will need. Maybe on Monday or Friday, treat these days like their weekends.

Pangrams

Pangrams

A pangram is a short sentence but you are using all 26 letters from the alphabet to form your sentence.

Buddy Pangram:

The quiet, white eagle flew in the sky over a zoo, lake, beach and an axe, then jumped onto a van.

Own Pangram:

The vast zoo animals counting the fox, lion, and wild bear quietly snuck out passing an axe, then disappeared into a jungle.

How Popcorn Pops

How Popcorn Pops

Intro/Beginning

This informative talk is about how and why piquant popcorn pops.

Middle

Hard Shell/Hull

The popcorn kernel is not the corn you would usually eat on Christmas, but a different type of corn species. The popcorn shell is called a hull.

Popping Bit
Inside the hull, steam gathers inside, where the steam gets bigger and bigger. The steam will stay inside the hull until it can no longer handle the pressure and then POP. The steam SHOOTS out of the kernel and then it turns into the yummy popcorn we all know and cherish.

Inside The Hull

Inside the hull, there are many things to discover.  The white stuff inside the popcorn kernel is actually starch. That bit is also called the endosperm. It is the seeds fuel.  Beneath that is the germ where it feeds on the endosperm. So that is how it will grow into a plant.

End/Conclusion

Popcorn is basically steam rushing out where it pops and grows into popcorn. When it pops it is the sound of steam shooting out of the kernel. Next time, before you eat popcorn, study how all of the science works.

Catch It

Akshara-

Vulture Perspective

Yawn, I wake up and stretch my wings. I turn around, hoping to see a tree that's full of berries. I turn around again and keep an eye on my chicks. They were born five days ago. I fly off and flutter in the air. I fly from my nest and still NO FOOD!!! I am extremely hungry. In my journey to find food, I find a lake, full of water. I drink for a while and continue with my journey.

Finally, I find a tree. The problem is that there’s only  one POMEGRANATE!!! The pomegranate is surrounded by meerkats. I need my appetizing food. I circle on top of the large sapling. I can still see the meerkats, gawking at the piquant, pomegranate  plant. I give out a clamorous “CAW” and give them a shock. The meerkats stop staring and run away. They're still near the tree. I gently glide down onto the branch, open my claws and SLASH. The pomegranate is now in my talon. I drift off back to my nest.

I fly off into the distance, thinking that I can eat the pomegranate in peace. But boy am I wrong. I can hear the meerkats but don’t know what they were going to do next. I try to fly quickly but my wings start to hurt for my home is far away.  The meerkats charge straight at me. As soon as I look downwards and see the meerkats, I am shocked! We are going to have a war. A war just for one SINGLE POMEGRANATE. I flap my wings as hard as I could but of course, it was no use. I remember that when I was a young kid, my mum would tell me, “Dear, meerkats are very quick, like their cousins, the mongoose.  They can scuttle at 30 miles per hour, so that's 15 miles per half hour. Don’t mess with them because they can easily catch you.”
While I am remembering all this stuff I feel a YANK!!! They are trying to get the pomegranate out of my claws. Luckily, they miss. But no. One of them jumps on my claw. It is probably clinging on for dear life because I am flailing. Then the other one.  After that, another one jumps on. Soon, all of the meerkats have attached themselves onto my claws.

I continue flying, hoping that the meerkats will fall off. I swoop up and plummet down.  I head skyward, dragging the meerkats behind me. I try to shake the meerkats of, but they are still clenching onto my claws. I suddenly realise that I’m LOST!!!
I have had enough. I am super mad at those stupid, idiotic meerkats. I forcefully shake my foot and finally, the meerkats let go of me and the pomegranate. They all separate and they fly through the air(even though they can’t fly, unlike me).

Unfortunately, the meerkats get the pomegranate and start tossing it among themselves. I desperately try to get the pomegranate and succeed. I grasp onto the pomegranate, The meerkats suddenly form a pyramid on my back but tumble over. I look back, seeing if the meerkats are still following me. But... KABOOM!!!!! I crash into a wall with a large bump over my eyes. I can not bear the pain anymore. It feels like I just crushed my chicklings only I just realised. They must be STARVING!!!

I fall down and hit the ground. I can see the meerkats throwing and catching the pomegranate, as if it is a rugby ball. Then the meerkats do a strong pose and start walking. It looks like they saved the entire world from aliens. Then the one at the front, (probably the leader) kicks it in between two trees that act as rugby posts and he SCORES!!!

I watch as the meerkat kicks the ball. The other meerkats cheer with happiness. However, their faces quickly change as the pomegranate lands on the ground and squishes into tiny pieces.
