Why Are Lions Endangered

Intro

Lions are prodigious creatures. They are almost extinct and are currently endangered. There are reasons to explain why lions are endangered and almost extinct.

Description

Lions belong to the species in the Felidae family. The lion is muscular. It is a deep-chested cat with an abbreviated, curved head, a reduced neck and round ears. It has a hairy tuft at the end of its tail. The lion's skin colour is a tawny, gold, blondish, brown.  Male lions are larger than the lionesses (females), weighing as much as five men or about 550 pounds (250 kilograms). The more slender lioness usually can weigh up to 400 pounds(180 kg). 

Paragraph 1-Habitat Loss

One of the main reasons that lions are endangered is because of habitat loss. Lion habitats are being destroyed and demolished. Wild lands are being used by humans to create farms, land for housing, roads and shops and to grow crops. Humans are pushing lions out of their essential habitats for their own uses. People also destroy the trees that lions rely on for shelter and kill their food sources. This doesn’t help the lion and then it will have nothing to eat, collapsing their food chain. Lions will have nothing to eat and will eventually reach the extinction point.

Paragraph 2- Poaching And Killing

In 1880, it was thought that there were 1.2 MILLION lions on earth. However, overtime this population has declined due to poaching and killing by humans.  Lions are illegally killed for their skins and fur to make coats and fluffy jumpers. They are also being killed for their teeth and claws, which are used to make jewellery and sold in Asian countries. Farmers also kill lions if they come onto their land so that their own animals don’t get killed.  

Conclusion

Lions are endangered because of humans. It's not their  predators and it's not their enemies. It is us humans. Lions are wild animals that simply try to protect their pride and their habitat or territory.

If surprise were a colour, it would be a bright turquoise blue.

It would be a joyful clown saying “Happy Birthday!!! ” at your birthday party.

Surprise is getting a rosette for being best in class.

If surprise were a taste, it would be a free chocolate bar that had been offered to you.

It would be just like seeing your dad after he had gone on a business trip.

If surprise were a feeling, it would be hearing news that your mum’s having a baby.

It would be As surprising as getting a Samsung note 9+.

If surprise were a smell, it would be warm Hot Fudge pudding or apple pie.

If surprise were a sound, it would be people clapping, cheering and shrieking.

Surprise is overwhelming Happiness, shock, astonishment and joy.
